Our global Service Business is growing and transforming, and we are looking for a motivated and experienced VP of Operations to contribute to our mission : Partnering for better Outcomes .

As VP of Operations, you will oversee the business operations in the North America region. You will be responsible for leading and managing daily operations to gain customer satisfaction, achieve business goals, and maximize profitability.

Additionally, you will develop the Customer Service team to match both capacity and capability needed to execute Bühler’s Services for our customers.

Tasks

  • Understand all operational needs and requirements from customers in the various industries.
  • Lead the daily operations on regional and country level in the various service areas including parts business, field operations, repair workshops services, services agreements, remote support, and technical advisory services.
  • Lead the team to fulfill customer needs and develop operational plans for the region.
  • Oversee the resource capacities, development, and allocation in the region to manage the profitability of the service business.
  • Work closely with country managers and sales to jointly deliver on business results.
  • Develop the regional service delivery capabilities in line with the strategic growth plans. Adapt group level plans to the regional needs.
  • Evaluate opportunities and potential in the services markets based on market and customer feedback, and general economic trends.
  • Support the rollout of new service solutions with the support of business unit specialists and contribute to its market success.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a leading service function in industrial or equipment sector.
  • Proven leadership skills : experience in organization development, strong decision-making ability, managing and developing people.
  • Operations management, service contract management and supply chain management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and matrix environment.
  • Project management knowledge with legal and commercial expertise.
  • Experience in optimizing life cycle costs of products.
  • Willingness to travel (30%).
