Job Summary

The Operations Manager will oversee daily activities in the warehouse and manage a team of warehouse staff, truck drivers, and facilities.

In this hands-on role, you will work closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth operations, maintain high safety standards, and foster a positive work culture.

The ideal candidate should be experienced in warehouse operations, have excellent people management skills, and be comfortable working both in the office and on the warehouse floor.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management :

Supervise and lead warehouse staff, truck drivers, and facilities management.

Act as the day-to-day contact for warehouse and trucking employees.

Ensure effective scheduling, workflow, and resource management to meet operational demands.

Train and develop team members, providing support where necessary.

Warehouse Operations :

Oversee warehouse activities, including unloading / loading, material handling, and inventory management.

Work hands-on with staff, including operating forklifts and other equipment when needed.

Implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.

Serve as backup for key warehouse staff during absences or high-demand periods.

Facilities Management :

Oversee building maintenance and address any facility-related issues.

Coordinate with the General Manager to ensure the warehouse and surrounding premises are in top condition.

Customer and Vendor Relations :

Work closely with customer service reps and clients to ensure timely fulfillment of orders.

Act as the truck dispatcher, coordinating deliveries and pickups efficiently.

Qualifications

Experience :

5+ years of experience in warehouse and / or transportation management.

Hands-on experience with material handling, including operating forklifts.

Proven leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.

Skills :

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively.

Ability to work collaboratively in a small business environment.

Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on efficiency and safety.

Soft Skills :

Adaptable and calm under pressure.

Ability to manage diverse teams and work in a collaborative environment.

Strong work ethic with a focus on both day-to-day operations and long-term goals.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary : $65,000 $80,000 annually, based on experience.

Benefits : Health insurance (company covers employee plan after 3 months), dental and vision options, 401(k) with matching, profit-sharing, and annual bonuses based on performance.

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 : 30 PM, with occasional on-call responsibilities for facility management or after-hours needs.
