Overview :
As a Heavy Equipment Operator , you will maintain and operate various pieces of equipment on the customer's job sites and at company locations.
You must be experienced and able to run and maintain wheel loaders, excavators, and other machinery . You will simultaneously be training to become qualified to run and maintain other larger equipment.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Using the process of Plan, Brief, Execute, and Debrief, the Spotter and the Equipment Operator will review the task(s), hazards, environment, and mitigation of hazards prior to beginning the job or any time the job conditions change.
- Drives and operates trucks and equipment
- Loads and hauls equipment according to qualification status
- Operates certain equipment and tools on site and trains others on the proper operation of that equipment including maintenance as to where all elements and other items receive daily and weekly maintenance
- Follows Basic Machine Maintenance.
- Oversees and maintains the equipment assigned.
- Repairs and maintains equipment on job site.
- Completes scheduled services to include the replacement of service stickers, pulling oil samples, and proper notation on weekly maintenance reports.
- Completes weekly equipment reports and turn in on time.
- Works in conjunction with all members on the crew.
- Takes direction from the crew foreman as to the order and manner that activities are to be accomplished.
- Discusses alternatives to help increase safety and productivity.
- Works with crew to meet the daily work schedule, goals and daily task.
- Ensure all employees, subs, and site visitors are following safety guidelines and have signed the tailboard and the JSA.
- Work with foresters to mark risk trees and identifies hazard trees.
- Performs fence repair, gate installation, finding access, and traffic control.
- Communicates with landowners and customers.
- Maintains minimum stocking level of supplies, and tools for equipment repair and crew safety
- Performs other duties as assigned by the crew foreman.
- Attend Tailboards and Hazard Analysis for the crew.
- Shall follow all company safety guidelines.
- Shall wear all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the job duties.
- Shall notify the crew foreman if other members of the crew, other contractors on-site, or members of the general public on-site are not working or behaving in a safe manner.
- Report safety violations, incidents, or near misses to crew foreman. Benefits :

Required Qualifications :
- Able to run and maintain a skid steer,
- Able to run and maintain a telehandler
- Able to run and maintain a tractor
Preferred Qualifications :
- GED or High School Diploma
- 1 year experience operating various pieces of heavy machinery
Work Environment :
This job may operate in remote locations, void of sanitary facilities, in extreme weather conditions both hot and cold and precipitated, during light of day, during the night and possibly in flooded areas.

- Crawl height 2' (Required to be able to crawl under a 2' crawl space.)
- Small space / hole 2.5' wide (Required to be able to fit through a 2.5' wide crawl space.)
- Max weight single hand 30lbs (Required to be able to lift up to 30 lbs with a single hand.)
- Max weight both hands 60lbs (Required to be able to lift up to 60 lbs with both hands.)
- Max floor to waist lift 75lbs (Required to be able to lift up to 75 lbs from the floor to the waist.)
- Above shoulder lift 40lbs (Required to be able to lift up to 40 lbs from the floor to above the shoulders)
