Job Description
Lead and manage the Business Analytics Team that provides financial and operational decision support to division Sales Operations and Marketing via dashboards, financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting relating to revenue, gross profit, pricing, product costing, quotations, bids, product revisions, market insights, and marketing initiatives.
Develop and implement strategies and solutions to improve the data-driven decision-making capabilities of Medline’s largest product division.
Create value by extracting meaningful insights from internal and external data relevant to market share and gross margin improvement.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify project opportunities, manage the team’s project portfolio, and prioritize work to maximize value generation and performance toward division and department objectives.
Responsible for the development and management of actionable data and analytics that improve divisional and sales decision making.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting whether recurring or in response to ad hoc information requests. Understand the underlying business processes, technologies, and applications used to generate transactional and master data, as well as relevant third-party or external data sources.
Collaborate with division leaders to define success metrics, understand relevant goals, and develop measurement solutions as they relate to division analytics.
Work with corporate and division IT and BI professionals to vet tools, data sources, standards, and methods.
Coach, mentor, and train a team of business intelligence and operations analysts to establish necessary subject matter expertise and a consistent level of quality, accuracy, and accountability.
Set team goals, and conduct performance reviews. Recruit, hire, and develop talent with a balanced approach to technical skills and business acumen.
Oversee major projects, present critical analyses to senior management, and recommend business strategies that drive profitable revenue growth.
Leverage offshore resource teams to expand and enrich capabilities and productivity.
Qualifications - External
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Data Science, Computer Science, or similar field.
Relevant Work Experience
Experience leading individuals with advanced technical and analytical skillsets, including hiring and talent planning.
7+ years of work experience in analytical roles with a focus on problem solving with data.
4+ years of experience generating standard and ad hoc analyses, dashboards, visualizations, financial models, etc.
Additional
Demonstrated capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
Sound business acumen and comfort with financial terminology and performance metrics.
Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills; ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex issues.
Ability to work with multiple business and technical stakeholders at many levels of the organization.
Expert level proficiency with MS Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI and / or other data analysis tools.
Familiarity with ETL, R, Python and / or other advanced tools preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification / Licensure / Education
Advanced degree or certification(s) in business analytics, data science, or business administration.
Relevant Work Experience
Familiarity with ERP and manufacturing systems, bills of material and similar product master data, configure-price-quote, product costing, and customer pricing.
