is seeking a librarian to join our Reference and Instruction Team. The basic function of the employee in this position is to provide patrons of the Library with reference services and instruction in a timely, orderly, and organized manner and to ensure full utilization of materials (print, non-print, and electronic) available to faculty, staff, and students.
The minimum salary for this position starts at $57,344.00 and determined commensurate with experience.

Principal Accountabilities
Reference : Provide reference service to students, faculty, staff, and community users in person at the library service desk, and by chat, email, and other electronic methods.
Perform online database searches for faculty and special projects.
Instruction : Prepare and present instruction in the use of library resources and related information technology in person and online.
Participate in the assessment of the library’s instruction program.
Collection management : Serve as a library liaison to assigned academic and administrative units. Select print and digital materials.
Work with faculty to promote collections, coordinate library services, and plan instructional support.
Library operations : Assist with shared library administrative duties, including supervision of the library on rotating nights or weekends.
Assume responsibility for an administrative function, such as scheduling, marketing, or project planning.
Other duties : May serve on college committees and participate in committees and projects in local and state-wide organizations.
Requirements
- A Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an institution accredited by the American Library Association required.
- At least two years of library or related experience required.
- Expertise in searching a wide range of information resources required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Preferred attributes :
- Demonstrated history of teaching classes, groups, and individuals.
- Experience with assessment practices and instructional design, including creation and editing of video tutorials.
- Experience in an academic library, preferably a community college.
- Coursework or experience within a STEM discipline and in library data analysis.
