Come grow with us and help shape the future of cannabis.SummaryThe Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for managing and enforcing all cannabis compliance requirements of the Company, including licensee’s dispensaries, production and grow facilities.

The Regulatory Compliance Manager will help upgrade, develop, and implement the Company’s quality assurance policies and standard operating procedures.

The individual will also ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, county, and municipal laws, ordinances, and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Present at public workshops and hearings as needed to advocate for positive regulatory changes.

Analyze impact on operations by regulatory and statutory changes, regulator meetings, and disciplinary actions against others.

Serve as point of contact for regulatory audits, inspections, applications, and other inquiries, including to and from cannabis regulators, OSHA, and county and local level regulators.

Prepare policies, procedures, HACCP plans, and any other documentation required to meet regulatory, GMP, and other standards.

Maintain operating licenses / permits / registrations, e.g. cannabis licenses, business licenses, operational permits.Research ad hoc legal and compliance questions.

Understand the complexity of compliance requirements governing our businesses, including the following types of regulatory agencies : Securities Regulators, Cannabis Regulators, OSHA, Fire Departments, City / County Zoning and Planning Departments, Business Licensing Departments, and more.

Provide analysis and input of cannabis regulatory changes and public hearings to the Company.Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.

Maintain a system for uniform handling of such violations.Responsible for creation of and updates to regulatory compliance checklists.

Oversee regulatory compliance checklist completion in conjunction with operations and management to include the requirements of all applicable regulatory agenciesCollaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.

Consult with attorneys as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.Manage all communication with legal and regulation departments to maintain knowledge on all new rulings in the organization.

Advise and assist with SOP review and updates, as requested or necessary. Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues / concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.

Provide reports on a regular basis, and as directed, to keep the executive team and senior management members informed of the operation and progress of all operating facilities.

Travel to and from area facilities, reliable transportation needed. Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.

Assist with the implementation of company policies, standard operating procedures and performance standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities Manages 2+ employees in the legal department, Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;

Education and / or Experience Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five or more years’ of regulatory compliance experience in a highly regulated industry;

or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and industry-specific analysis software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must be able to possess an agent card or other required registration in all jurisdictions in which the Company does business and be 21 years of age or older.
