Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full time non-metallic materials engineer to work in the Fort Worth Materials and Processes (M&P) group.
Primary program ties will be to the F-35 and F-16 Programs. In this role, job responsibilities include :
- providing non-metallic materials support to domestic and foreign co-producers
- applying chemistry knowledge toward adhesives, sealants, polymers and structure assembly requirements
- reviewing engineering Build To Packages (BTP)
- supporting assembly production operations
- creating and maintaining entries for M&P databases
- evaluating new materials for production use
- creating and maintaining non-metallic material and process specifications
- interfacing with material manufacturers
- developing and overseeing of test plans
- determining releaseability of technical documents and specifications

Desired skills
- Degree with a Major or Minor in Chemistry highly preferred
- Experience with Analytical Chemistry Techniques / Equipment (such as FTIR, DSC, DMA, TGA, UV / Vis Spectroscopy, XPS, SEM (EDS), GC / MS, etc.)
- Familiarity with wet chemistry methods / processes a plus
- Familiar with aerospace sealants, adhesives, and polymers
- Familiar with issues related to inserting new technologies into production
- Experience creating and revising material and process specifications, reports, and test plans
- Experience with material characterization techniques and process development
- Experience with non-conformance disposition and corrective action processes
- Experience preparing and delivering technical presentations
- Strong verbal and written communication / interpersonal skills
- Project management skills
- Willing to travel
