Director, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting

We are excited to add a Director - SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to our Finance & Accounting team! This role will be a on-site position.

The position will pay between $170,000 - $200,000 plus bonus based on previous relevant experience, educational credentials, and location.

Description

The Director SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting will report to the Controller. They will oversee the preparation of the Company’s SEC filings in accordance with relevant GAAP and SEC regulations.

As part of their duties, they will be responsible for remaining apprised of changes in GAAP and SEC regulations, as well as any other regulatory reporting requirements which the Company may become subject to as the organization evolves.

The Director will also be primarily responsible for researching, opining, and memorializing the appropriate accounting treatment of material complex transactions.

Should those transactions give rise to new required process, they will assist relevant finance functions with the implementation of new processes.

As applicable, the Director will prepare or assist in the preparation of analyses that are deemed necessary to determine or support accounting conclusions.

The Director will own the Company’s accounting policy manual and reflect necessary changes in accounting policy resulting from Accounting Standards Updates or new business requirements.

The Director will prepare periodic and ad hoc business and accounting analyses, as necessary. Finally, the Director will prepare materials for the Company’s Audit Committee, as deemed relevant toward the execution of their governance functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the Company’s 10-Q, 10-K, and other external financial reports, as required, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SEC Regulations, XBRL, or other relevant regulatory guidance and maintain support for such filings.
• Research, opine, and memorialize the technical accounting treatment for material transactions.
• Prepare certain, routine analyses to support various accounting conclusions.
• Advise executive leadership on the accounting and reporting treatment of potential transactions.
• Engage, liaise, and review the work of with various third party specialists to support accounting conclusions, as needed from time to time.
• Assess new and emerging regulatory requirements from the SEC other relevant regulators and present findings and recommendations to executive leadership.
• Maintain an effective control environment and carry out certain business process controls to support the Company’s requirements pursuant to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
• Own and maintain the Company’s accounting policy manual.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the external auditors with respect to reporting and technical accounting matters.
• Assist the finance function in designing and implementing new processes to address emerging accounting standards or new accounting needs resulting from changes in the business.
• Devise and implement proprietary, innovative, and automated solutions to complement or replace current manual processes.
• Administer the Company’s stock plan.
• Prepare materials for the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors with information deemed relevant toward the execution of their governance functions.
• Collaborate with other departments on an as-needed basis for ad hoc projects.

Education and Experience

A successful candidate will have the following education and experience :

• BS or BA in Accounting
• CPA License
• 8 years of relevant experiencer

• Proficiency in all other Microsoft Office applications
