Target starting pay range : $18.53 - $23.16 per hour
Minimum point : $18.53 / Mid-point : $23.16 per hour / Max-point : $27.79

Purpose : The primary purpose of this position is to assist Atlanta Postal Credit Union to live out our Mission, To help our members achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service.
This individual will ensure the timely and accurate closings of all loans originated by the Mortgage Loan Originators. The closer’s primary functions are to perform all needed quality assurance required in accordance with investor guidelines, as well as insure the loans are closed in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with our Service Promises
- Prepare closing loan package necessary for individual loan types in accordance with Credit Union and investor guidelines as well as Secondary Market requirements including pre-funding QC, VOE within 10 days of closing and TRID tolerance violations.
- Ensure the timely movement and closing of approved loans through the pipeline.
- Contact Title Companies, Attorneys, Loan Originators, Processors and Insurance Companies to obtain documents necessary to close mortgage loans.
- Advise all parties of any changes or issues that may occur to ensure high quality standards of member service
- Perform a pre-closing quality review of loan files prior to releasing closing package.
- Complete closing instructions and review and approve the Closing Disclosure.
- Create wire form, process and approve wires and input all closed mortgage loans into Symitar in accordance to the final closing instructions.
- Comply with all aspects of BSA / AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications :
- College degree in business, economics, or a related field OR equivalent work experience.
- Three or more years of experience compiling mortgage loan packages and ensuring timely closings preferred; open to two or more years of experience closing consumer loans.
- Experience closing Fannie Mae loans preferred.
- Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to interact positively with management, co-workers, members and vendors to promote a team effort and maintain a positive attitude even under extreme pressure.
- Well organized and able to process detailed information with accuracy and efficiency and the ability to work independently, manage time and meet deadlines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulations regarding lending and privacy.
- Ability to apply loan guidelines, policy, regulations and laws to individual member credit situations.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Physical Job Requirements :
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc.
Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed. Must be able to lift and / or carry weights of 20 pounds.
