Rockhurst University invites applications for a tenure-track (TT) Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. This is a 9-month, tenure-track (TT) position beginning in August 2025.
The Criminal Justice program is housed in the Department of Psychology, Justice, and Society and offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice : Forensic Track.
A minor in Criminal Justice is also offered.
Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to excellent undergraduate teaching and scholarly potential, including a research agenda and plans for peer-reviewed publication and presentation.
In addition to demonstrating excellence in teaching and research, the successful candidate is expected to advise and mentor undergraduate students, and engage in service with the department, college and university.
The successful candidate should be able to teach a wide range of criminal justice courses, such as Intro to Criminal Justice, Criminology, Juvenile Delinquency, Corrections, Criminal Law, etc.
There are opportunities to develop specialized electives for the program.

Minimum Qualifications
- in Criminal Justice or Criminology
- Evidence of teaching excellence in higher education
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Evidence of ability to engage in research that results in publications and presentations. It is a bonus if the research can integrate undergraduate students.
