Building Automation Programmer

Job Title : Automation Programmer

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Create control algorithms, download source code to controllers, manage system databases, and implement an animated front-end graphical user interface.
• Experience in Multiple Systems integration, getting different protocols to talk to each other and share information. One front end for multiple platforms.
• Executes project start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems on assigned projects.
• Participates in the layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT Department personnel.
• Works with equipment vendors to coordinate communication protocols, encryption, and database requirements for integration to their systems.
• Runs semi-complex reports to analyze system operation, works with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work.
• Participates in final inspection and testing, assures customer acceptance, and conducts training for end user customers on system operations.
• Provides Plans & Control System Documents to application engineering for as-built drawings using the latest digital technology.

Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)

• years of experience with Tridium Niagara AX / N and must be Niagara N
• Knowledge of Direct Digital Controls, LON, LonWorks, BACnet, Tridium NiagaraAX and Niagara.
• Knowledge in any of the following manufacturers is preferred : Honeywell WEBs, JCI Facility Explorer, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure and Niagara, Delta Controls, and Distech.
• Must have working knowledge of HVAC systems - Unitary Systems to Central Plants.
• Must have good troubleshooting skills for determining HVAC vs. computer / controller issues.
• General understanding of IP networks.
• Knowledge of Windows Operating System.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
• Some flexibility to work overtime / weekends.
