We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Trust & Estates Legal Assistant to join our fast-paced legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to work in a supportive environment, handling a broad range of trust and estate matters.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal support, with a particular focus on trust and estate law. This position is full-time and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Trust & Estates Legal Assistant, your key responsibilities will include :
1. Assisting attorneys in the preparation and execution of wills, trusts, estates, and related documents.
2. Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents related to estate planning and trust administration.
3. Coordinating and managing estate and trust administration, including probate proceedings, asset distribution, and tax filings.
4. Liaising with clients, court personnel, and other professionals to facilitate efficient communication and case progression.
5. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client files and case management systems.
6. Ensuring all legal documentation is accurate, complete, and complies with regulations and standards.
7. Providing general administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, and managing correspondence.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications :
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in trust and estate law.
2. Proficient knowledge of wills, trusts, and estate administration.
3. Exceptional legal research and drafting skills.
4. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
5. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and legal professionals.
6. Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. A degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred.
8. Certification as a legal assistant or paralegal is a plus.
