About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : NICU / Nursery (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years License : Required Certifications : BLS, NRP Must-Have : Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience preferred Job Description : Provide care in a Level 2 NICU unit with a capacity of 8 beds.
- Utilize AWHONN guidelines in patient care.- Care for low- and high-risk mothers and neonates. Services include inpatient, observation, and short stay patients who may have medical or surgical issues related to pregnancy.
- Handle UAC / UVC, chest tubes, phototherapy, breastfeeding support, OG / NG feedings.- Titrate drips as necessary, including TPN, D10, and Dobutamine.
- Work alongside a charge nurse and house supervisor available 24 / 7.- Collaborate with nurse aides in a 1 : 8 ratio setup.
- Use ventilators, UAC / UVC, and chest tubes as part of standard RT equipment.- Monitor patients using bedside monitors;
RNs are required to read strips.- Participate in a modified self-schedule, with every-other-weekend and rotational holiday requirements.
Meet on-call requirements : Two 12-hour on-call shifts per four-week schedule.- Float within the NICU and Nursery units;
no floating to outside areas.- Follow the dress code : Navy scrubs for RN / LPNs; appropriate surgical attire for OR Techs.
Optional solid color fleece zip-ups and undershirts are allowed.- Undergo a general hospital orientation, nursing orientation, and computer training.
Participate in three 8-hour nursing orientation sessions, 8-hour Meditech training if needed, and 3-4 12-hour orientation shifts with a preceptor.
Use the MEDITECH 6.1 charting system. Ensure all qualifications align with the requirements for this role, and prepare to join a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional neonatal care.
