This position involves providing radiation therapy services at both our main campus clinic in Detroit and our satellite clinic in Brownstown.
This opportunity offers a unique experience in serving diverse patient populations across two locations, contributing to the advancement of cancer care in the Detroit metropolitan area.
GENERAL SUMMARY :
Under general supervision the Radiation Therapist :
- Administers radiation treatments to patients, as prescribed by the physician, utilizing specialized equipment including linear accelerator,
- High Dose Rate (HDR) After loader, and Computed Tomography.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURES REQUIRED :
A.R.R.T. Radiation Therapy Technology Certification or registry eligible.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
- Lifting of patients, moving & pushing wheelchairs / stretchers and lifting of equipment, above head, up to 50 lbs.
- Potential exposure to radiation; however, adherence to safety procedures minimizes likelihood of danger.
- Frequent interaction with emotionally depressed and terminally / critically ill patients.
