Job Summary

Responsible for end-to-end ownership of projects across the entire stack. Build products with web frameworks, application programming interfaces, databases, and multiple Backend languages.

Solve challenges that impact both the front-end and backend architecture, while delivering global customer experiences. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline.

Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience.

Job Description

What You'll Do :

  • Implementing NQL and GQL Services : Write code in Golang to enhance real-time (NQL) and non-real-time (GQL) data services as outlined in the Genome project, ensuring efficient data collection and retrieval mechanisms.
  • Secure Coding Practices in USM KEY : Contribute to the development and maintenance of the USM KEY service, focusing on secure authentication, private key management, and encryption protocols for cable modems.
  • Collaborative Software Development : Actively participate in collaborative software development with engineering teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination, including regular code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Defect Identification and Documentation : Lead efforts to identify, reproduce, and document software defects, particularly in the context of the Genome project.

Ensure thorough testing and documentation practices.

  • Optimizing Software Performance : Work on performance optimization of the software by identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements to meet project objectives.
  • Adhering to Quality Assurance Practices : Ensure the application of quality assurance practices, such as inspecting, testing, and evaluating software, to guarantee accuracy and reliability in line with the Genome project's standards.
  • Engagement with Technical Components : Engage with the specific technical components of the Genome project, including Golang, NQL, GQL, and USM KEY.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conduct analysis to determine integration needs.
  • Design new software, support applications under development, and customize current applications. Develop software update processes for existing applications and assist in the roll-out of software releases.
  • Keep current with technological developments within the industry. Monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products.

Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.

  • Assist in tracking and evaluating performance metrics. Ensure the team delivers software on time, to specification, and within budget.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

What You'll Need :

  • GoLang - Proficiently write, maintain, and optimize code in Golang to develop and enhance NQL and GQL services
  • AWS - Proficiently utilize AWS services to manage and store polled data in Transient Data Store and DX Data Lake
  • GraphQL - Implement and interact with GraphQL services
  • SQL / NO SQL Databases - Expertise in working with both SQL and NoSQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval
  • SNMP - Proficiently work with SNMP for network monitoring and management, ensuring effective data collection
  • Concourse CI / CD - Competency in using Concourse for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI / CD) processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in software development with a focus on Go (Golang).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
