Director, Fab Quality
Job Purpose
The Director of Fab Qualitywill lead a team dedicated to driving continuous improvement in the quality andreliability of the products produced at MACOM's internal & externalsemiconductor wafer fabrication facilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop and direct theimplementation of changes to Process Control, Quality Control and QualityAssurance procedures to improve product quality, reliability, yield and costeffectiveness.
- Be a practitioner in SixSigma tools & structured problem-solving and guide institutional learningon these methods.
- Work with R&D andFab Process Engineering teams to perform FMEA and establish qualitycheckpoints to drive towards zero-defects in production.
- Drive Design forManufacturing (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) practices in astage-gate NPI process.
- Lead failureinvestigation and corrective action for customer related failures andfacilitate customer quality & reliability interactions.
- Review incoming Foundrymaterial from suppliers to assure compliance to technical requirements andspecifications.
- Member of Fab Change ReviewBoard, reviewing and influencing decision making for any process changes.
- Communicate qualityissues to the MACOM leadership team with recommendations for improvements.
- Act as a Lead Auditor inthe Fab for IATF16949 Automotive and AS9100D Aerospace QMS certifications.
Qualifications :
- Morethan 20 years' experience with increasing responsibility in Wafer FabQuality Engineering.
- Understandingand working knowledge of the key elements of :
- ReliabilityEngineering and Qualification procedures (Telcordia, MIL STD, JEDEC, IPC,etc.)
- ManufacturingStatistical Process Control, (SPC, Process Capability, DOE).
- Problem-solvingmethodology such as six-sigma Black Belt, 8D, or Global ProblemSolving.
- Experiencein driving Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Reliability(DFR) in a stage-gate NPI process.
- Leadership,assertiveness, ability to be a team player with positive attitude.Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written andverbal) are required.
- MSin Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or Physics.
- Due to ITAR regulations, candidate but be a US Person as defined by US Export Control.
- Positionresides in Lowell, MA but travel to other MACOM, supplier, or customersites will be required.
