Remedy is thrilled to be working with long-standing, service-oriented manufacturing company as they embark on a critical search to welcome an EHS Manager to their dynamic team! This EHS Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the environmental, safety and security programs at their Kansas City, KS facility.

Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing while also working collaboratively with Director of Safety and the corporate Director of Engineering and Environment, you will be tasked with implementing safety, environmental and other compliance programs, training staff and coordination projects for construction and maintenance improvements.

Hours : Generally 8 : 00am-5pm, M-F

Pay : $135,000+, depending upon expertise

Essential functions for this EHS Manager will include :

  • Provide leadership and guidance on federal, state, local laws / codes, regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Support the ongoing development and maintain a safety culture to comply with company policies and OSHA regulations with a focus on incident prevention.
  • Organize, administer, and supervise OSHA programs including, but not limited to, PSM, MOCs, PHAs, JHAs, PSSRs, HazOps, root cause investigations, and corrective action and / or review.
  • Conduct IH studies for work areas and personnel for existing and new work processes
  • Provide input to projects / construction for EHS aspects of construction which may include : Environmental improvement, waste minimization, process improvement, cost savings, construction, and renovations.
  • Develop / write technical memos, regulatory reports, permitting, work plans, proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate activities with regulatory agencies for permitting and to verify compliance, resolve situations, and maintain a cooperative working relationship.
  • Manage the generation, handling, and / or inspection of hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage.
  • Conduct or manage environmental and safety training for production employees as required.
  • Support quality programs and process improvements. Assist with customer or agency audits / inspections.
  • Writes and / or reviews operating procedures for manufacturing processes
  • Represents the company in community or industry safety groups and programs.

We're actively looking for EHS leaders with the following background profile :

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil / Environmental Engineering is REQUIRED
  • 10-15 years of experience in EHS compliance as wells as strong leadership experience in a manufacturing EHS capacity
  • Those who possess PE licensure, and / or are a Certified Industrial Hygienist / Certified Safety Professional are strongly preferred!
  • Experience in environmental site assessment / remediation, pesticide registration, or food safety is desired
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Experience in training technical and professional courses.
