The Role :

Moderna is seeking MBA students to join the Corporate Finance & Corporate Development teams for our Summer 2025 MBA internship program.

Heres What Youll Do :

OVERVIEW OF CORPORATE FINANCE : The Corporate Finance Team is responsible for driving the financial planning process for the company, leading the consolidation of financial statements, financial reporting, and overall budgeting and forecasting processes.

The team also provides strategic financial forecasting support, cash flow management, executive decision and communication support, and drives cross-functional initiatives across the finance organization.

Corporate Development : The Corporate Development team is responsible for driving strategic transactions and long-term planning, focusing on initiatives that enhance the companys technology and expand its pipeline and portfolio.

This includes M&A, partnerships, and licensing deals. The team also collaborates cross-functionally, driving strategic projects alongside commercial, R&D, and CMC teams to support the companys growth and innovation objectives.

The ideal Corporate Finance MBA intern candidates are self-starters with strong analytical skillsets and financial backgrounds who enjoy tackling tough challenges, who have a proven ability to drive results and impact, and who enjoy working in fast-paced and dynamic environments.

The ideal Corporate Development MBA Intern candidates are self-starters who are excellent at navigating ambiguity and leverage a broad base of prior pharmaceutical / biotech industry experience, high attention to detail and advanced analytical skills.

The Moderna MBA Programs :

In addition to contributing to strategic projects on their teams, our MBA interns will have the opportunity to engage with our senior leaders, build lasting bonds with their cohort members, and participate in development opportunities that are unique to Modernas innovative platform and culture.

They will also gain insight into Modernas MBA Leadership Accelerator Program, an 18-month program designed to develop Modernas next generation of enterprise leaders.

MBA interns who receive full-time offers after their internship would return to Moderna upon graduation as part of this exciting program.

Timeline and Logistical Notes :

The Summer 2025 MBA internship will be an 11-week experience running from June 2 August 15, 2025 . (Any changes to internship dates will be communicated to students during interviews).

The application deadline for the internship is December 5th, 2024 and applicants will be invited for interviews by mid-December.

Interviews will be conducted in early / mid-January and successful candidates will be notified by the end of January.

Moderna has posted separate job postings for each business functions MBA intern roles. Eligible students are welcome to apply to as many of these postings as they would like but will only be invited to interview for a maximum of two different MBA intern roles.

Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications) :

Currently enrolled as a 1st year in a full-time MBA program (planned graduation in Spring 2026)

4+ years experience pre-MBA in healthcare consulting, pharma, biotech, or similar experience in a professional services or investment capacity (e.

g., management or strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital)

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications) :

Experience driving business process transformation and change

Proven experience delivering on initiatives and process improvements with complex business deliverables driving through to success

Advanced verbal and written communication skills to deliver a compelling narrative / message to senior stakeholders in the organization

Ability to multitask, learn quickly, and pivot fearlessly based on real-time data

Comfort with ambiguity and with designing and executing projects simultaneously

Commitment to learning about the science behind our mRNA platform technology, ideally grounded in academic or professional experience with a discipline related to drug discovery and development ( e.

g., biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology)

Strong business acumen, analytical skills, demonstrated success with cross-functional collaboration, and a high EQ
