Airtronics, an Aerospace and Defense company specializing in the repair, overhaul, and manufacture of products in support of commercial as well as Government clients, has an immediate opening on its team for a full-time Team Lead Mechanical Engineer.
The ideal candidate would have a strong background with Solid Works (preferred) and / or other Computer Aided Drafting Programs.

Aspects of this position include :
- Performing work which involves the use of conventional engineering practices.
- Investigating products and documenting findings in report format.
- Analyzing simple components. Hydraulic, stress, and control theory analysis is typically performed.
- Writing and performing component tests.
- Creating detailed designs using 2D and 3D drafting, including dimensioning and tolerance.
- Creating and maintaining BOMs; releasing drawings.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, basic technical writing skills (procedures, reports, etc.).
- Competent skills in problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Competent in the use of PCs and associated software.
- Ability to effectively operate in a project team environment and communicate with customers.
- Basic ability to understand and interpret industry and technical standards including quality system standards.
- Creation of documentation, reports, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office.
- Structural, vibrational, and thermal analysis.
- Ability to perform hand and spreadsheet calculations for electronic hardware vibration analysis, bolt calculations, tolerance analysis, and structural calculations.
- Familiarity with aerospace materials and processes including plating, corrosion prevention, and dissimilar metals.
- A minimum of a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in Military / Commercial Aerospace or Automotive Industry preferred.
- Experience in design and development of commercial or military electronic equipment.
