Job Summary

Under the direction of the Procurement Manager or the Procurement Lead, this position is responsible for the established inventory management for clinical departments.

This position facilitates specific periodic inventories, supplies received, stored, and issued at Summit Pacific Medical Center as directed.

This position receives, delivers, and stocks Central Services Inventory items as directed to ensure customers are never out of items needed for patient care. Must be detail minded.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Applies correct cycle count and other standard operations procedures that will include data entry.
  • Analyzes product usage and recommends inventory levels as appropriate to optimize inventory levels.
  • Anticipates supply needs and communicates potential interruptions to Manager / Lead and customers.
  • Delivery of Supply Requisitions to the floor and conducting physical inventories.
  • Assists in processing routine order for replenishment
  • Responsible for creating and editing department templates, working closely with clinical leaders, ensuring all supply needs are satisfied.
  • Assists leadership in managing various inventory control projects.
  • Special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • Associate degree, preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years Supply Chain experience required
  • One year in healthcare, highly preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Working knowledge and competence in supply chain processes, applications, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of medical supply chain terminology, and inventory management, preferred
  • Ability to learn and effectively use electronic medical records and other systems and equipment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and employ communication strategies appropriate to the audience.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of assistance or direct supervision.
  • Ability to cultivate effective relationships and work in collaboration with providers, other health care professionals, caregivers, and patients.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of assignments that require the use of independent judgment, problem-solving, organization, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Inventory Control Procedures, preferred
