JOB SUMMARY :
The Director, Application Portfolio is a leadership position responsible for the management and operations of the healthcare (acute care hospital) application portfolio.
Management of the portfolio includes the following : rationalization, standardization, project life cycle, interoperability, performance, and maintenance.
The Application Portfolio Leader will plan, initiate, and execute activities and processes designed to support the department's strategy and the organization's strategic imperatives.
Process improvement using data and performance measurement are an expectation of this role. The Director will be responsible for developing and maturing an engaged team that achieves high-performance, delivers customer satisfaction, and produces exceptional IT service and support.

Added responsibilities include the following : daily IT application operations, application support, SOX compliance, project management, software and hardware upgrades, change management, escalation management, downtime operations management, department goals, results and outcomes driven meetings, standardization, documentation of policy and procedures, and vendor invoice management to support department budget.
BASIC PERFORMANCE CRITERIA :

- Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance
- Employee maintains current licenses and / or certifications required for the position
- Practices and applies knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, OSHA and other federal / state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare
- Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year
Is knowledgeable of compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste, and abuse.
Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) required. Master's degree preferred. Five years of healthcare IT leadership experience; including 5 years of people and organizational management experience.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience required. MEDITECH EMR experience preferred. Experience with ServiceNow Application also preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :
- Proficient with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently or in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience working at all levels of an organization
- Has attained prior healthcare operations experience related to hospitals, surgery centers or physician offices (including knowledge of computer systems)
- Must possess 5 years of prior management experience
- Experience working under SOX compliance guidelines & regulations is preferred
- Experience with acute care EMRs; MEDITECH EMR preferred
- Ability to function efficiently in fast paced work environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision to accomplish the task
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple competing initiatives
- Ability to travel as needed to meet critical functions of the role (estimated up to 50%)
