What you'll do
- Assist in all areas of Q.A. Team responsibilities.
- Move Q.A. retain samples, and maintain sample retain areas.
- Perform routine Q.A. analyses : fill weights, Howard mold, foreign materials determinations, calcium determinations, Scott oil, Brix, acid, ratio, vitamin C and others.
- Perform product grading / scoring and check-loading in accordance with USDA program standards.
- Regular attendance required.
- Must interact cordially with co-workers.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
- Due to the significant amount of steps / stairs contained in our production facility, employees must have the ability to navigate steps / stairs in a safe manner.
What we're looking for
- 2 yr. A.S. (science) degree, enrollment in a Bachelors (science major) program with 60+ credits preferred or High School diploma / GED with minimum 2 yrs of QA or relevant science lab experience.
- Reading, writing, and math skills required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
- Must pass QA / USDA FQSC Certification testing in Grading, Product Holds, Computerized Line sheets and Check-Loading.
- Must possess good communication skills and the ability to work as a team member with co-workers and other plant personnel.
- Must be willing to participate in team mechanics and be accountable for the responsibility of the team.
- Must be flexible and able to prioritize job responsibilities.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to pull samples from production lines which involves walking, reaching, stretching, lifting, bending, and stooping.
- Must be able to flavor several juice samples per hour.
- Must be able to accurately distinguish color variations in juice samples.
- Non smoker is preferred.
