DESCRIPTION We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Mechanical Engineering for our Akela Engineering & Consulting vertical This position will oversee the mechanical engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems in building projects.

This role involves leading a team of engineers, managing projects from inception to completion, and ensuring all mechanical systems are efficient, sustainable, and meet client requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the MEP services industry, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and building a successful mechanical engineering team.

This role will also be responsible for identifying and pursuing new MEP business opportunities, developing, and maintaining client relationships, and ensuring the high-quality delivery of mechanical designs to clients. Leadership and Management :

  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers.
  • Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor team performance.
  • Foster a highly collaborative and innovative work environment. Project Management :
  • Oversee all phases of mechanical engineering projects, from design to implementation.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure project success. Quality Assurance :
  • Identify and resolve any issues or deficiencies.
  • Implement best practices for quality control and continuous improvement. Client Interaction :
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical expertise.
  • Present project proposals and updates to clients.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective project delivery. Sustainability and Innovation :
  • Promote sustainable engineering practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. Business Development :
  • Grow revenue from existing client base through ensuring high quality work product and regular client interactions.
  • Identify and win new work from new clients. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or engineering related field; MBA preferred.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in business development and sales, with a focus on MEP services industry.
  • P.E.

Professional Engineer

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and partners.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Successful history of Revenue and Profit Attainment Targets
  • Strong track record of Customer Satisfaction COMPENSATION The salary range for this position is $131,000-$227,000.
