Partners of the Americas (POA) seeks a highly qualified candidate to work as a Proposal Consultant. This individual will be working to support proposal development for a current live bid.
This individual will be working to support full cycle proposal development for a current live bid. This individual will be brought on through a consultancy agreement with Partners of the Americas and will collaborate with POA’s teams on developing and writing a proposal for a US Government donor funding opportunity.
POA is seeking a candidate able to work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines and to gather, organize and analyze technical information in a professional and credible manner.
The Consultant will be responsible for supporting the capture team during the proposal development stage. They will generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions and work with the proposal design team to best position POA for the active bid.
The consultant will gather and analyze technical information from various sources as a contribution to the proposal team’s efforts.
They will ensure that the donor’s requirements are adhered to in the design and writing of technical sections of the proposal.
Scope of Work
- Identify key hot button issues. Provide background information and actionable steps to addressing each hot-button issue.
- Identify potential local sub-recipients / core partners. Provide justification for each potential partner. Additionally, identify key resources and partner organizations / entities.
- Participate in Proposal design meetings with team.
- Support POA by identifying win themes under different Request for Proposal (RFP) scenarios. Identify core technical approaches and win themes that are relevant across different scenarios.
- Conduct key document review including but not limited to : stakeholder information, scientific literature, donor country development strategies, donor regional environmental strategy, government reports, market data, etc.
- Outline and write technical sections of proposal and incorporate feedback following every draft review session leading up to submission.
Professional qualifications & Professional Experience
- Master’s degree or experience in relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience developing proposals for USG donors such as USAID and USDA is preferred.
- Background and understanding of Agriculture and Environmental programming.
- 5+ Years of experience in international development programming or similar role.
- International experience in Latin America & the Caribbean preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal directions and produce documentation in a quick turn-around environment.
- Maintain excellence in document and presentation materials.
- Deadline-oriented with the ability to analyze and interpret information to drive more engaging content.
- Proven ability to collaborate, influence, and work with cross-functional teams.
