Job Summary :

As a Sales Engineer in the exciting world of Science / R&D, you will act as the critical liaison between technical customers and FLIR to ensure that a solution is rapidly identified, demonstrated, and quoted.

This role will be responsible for the Midwest territory at FLIR, which includes states as far east as Ohio and as far west as the Central Plains states.

Our ideal candidate has technical field sales experience in engineering or scientific applications and is located in Detroit, Michigan or Dayton, Ohio.

Your Contribution :

To be successful in this position, you will need to be interested in and able to understand test and data acquisition applications, develop proficiency with FLIR Science / R&D thermal camera systems and software, and inherently have a drive to own your territory including knowledge and ability to apply territory planning and analysis techniques to develop and grow your sales pipeline.

This position requires the ability to interpret customer specifications and identify appropriate system configurations, potential custom engineering requirements, and the ability to demonstrate the system onsite.

Your Job Responsibilities :

  • Sales Target : Responsible for achieving / exceeding a defined sales target for the Midwest territory.
  • Planning and Execution : Develop and implement sales plan and growth strategy to achieve sales targets at customer sites and region.
  • Expertise : Familiarize and develop expertise with FLIR cameras and software.
  • Collaboration : Capture market and key application information, document, and share with the broader team.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Significant (5+ years) technical sales experience in data acquisition, test & measurement, or technology space.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Science with a business / marketing aptitude or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of time.
  • Strong interest in promoting and demonstrating technology products.
  • Demonstrated record of managing a territory and responsiveness to business needs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills to meet and exceed strategic objectives.
