What You Will Do :

  • Grow a career in the transportation industry.
  • Work in the field and the office.
  • Work with WSB’s staff and directly with their clients.
  • As your technical skills develop, you will create more opportunities for a well-rounded role with WSB.

Specific tasks will involve :

  • Utilize drafting, GIS, and Microsoft Office software, as well as technology and devices like iPads.
  • Support engineering staff to design and prepare construction plans, estimates, and specifications.
  • Areas include, but are not limited to, traffic engineering and pedestrian facilities (ADA).
  • Actively participate in field walks with project managers and designers.
  • Support construction inspection staff, as needed.
  • You will be expected to travel periodically, projects may be spread across the state of Minnesota.
  • Travel expenses, including mileage, meals, and hotel accommodations are reimbursed.

What You Will Bring :

The successful candidate will have :

  • 0 - 5 years of relevant work experience in design, construction or construction inspections,
  • A two-year degree in civil engineering technology, engineering drafting, or related field from a technical / community college - Preferred
  • Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar is preferred.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro or similar is preferred.
  • MnDOT ADA Certification, or any other construction certifications, are desirable.
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • The desire to continually develop your technical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic will allow you to excel in this position.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • You must have the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains associated with construction sites.
