The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining public areas of the hotel, and assisting room attendants with the general cleaning of guest rooms. This includes vacuuming, shampooing carpets, cleaning/waxing floors, trash removal, stocking and maintaining supply rooms, and other cleaning duties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Stocking all housekeeping carts and cart rooms to ensure appropriate PAR levels are maintained throughout the entire building, in compliance with brand standards.
- Removing laundry from rooms and/or chutes.
- Restocking linen on floors as necessary.
- Cleaning and maintaining common areas, such as elevators, stockrooms, hallways, and stairs.
- Cleaning windows, sweeping, mopping, waxing, and polishing marble and tile floors as required.
- Performing deep cleaning tasks as needed.
- Managing guest requests, inquiries, and complaints promptly and thoroughly.
- Ensuring follow-up with guests is performed in a timely manner to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and quality service.
- In the event of guest dissatisfaction, negotiating compromises in accordance with the "Make it Right" established guidelines.
- Following proper hotel safety policies and procedures, and using safety equipment as needed to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift.
- Reporting all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Ensuring the work area is clean and clear of standing water, debris, or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being performed safely, efficiently, and effectively.
- Complying with attendance rules and being available to work on a regular basis.
- Being able to work varied shifts, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Performing any other job-related duties as assigned.
- While performing the duties of this position, regularly standing and walking for an entire shift, and performing repetitive motions, bending, stretching, reaching, stooping, and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
