Job Summary
- To assess, evaluate and care for surgical patients of all ages.
- This includes but is not limited to preparation of surgical supplies, instruments and equipment on the sterile field, and assisting the surgeon during procedures.
- Provides care for all ages of patients ranging from neonate to geriatric.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient / customer's status.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
Education and / or Experience
- Post high school graduate of a surgical technologist program is preferred.
- Actual scrubbing experience during technologist program is preferred.
Licensure / Certification / Registration
- Must have certification as a surgical technologist or be eligible to write the certification exam with the goal of completion of certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
- Day shifts
- 8-hour shifts
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$22.00 - $31.75 per hour
