What you will be doing
The Own Brands Strategic Sourcing Department has an opening for a Sr. Sourcing Analyst.
The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA or Boise, ID, or one of our main regional offices (Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Denver, CO, Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL, Fullerton, CA, or Phoenix, AZ).
Main responsibilities
Running a competitive event :
- Ensure smooth execution of category review and event timelines and processes to deliver on category strategy and other projects such as RFIs / RFQs
- Develop key category documents (., category review, strategy, award recommendations)
- Independently collate RFI and RFP responses and vendor feedback letters; work with central sourcing analytics team to build negotiation docs
- Collaborate with sourcing central contracts team to manage contract paperwork with vendors
Leading analysis :
- Lead and own outcomes on higher complexity category-strategy and or spend, setting analyses and cost analytics that set the context of any competitive event
- Lead and own outcomes of competitive event response analytics to build preliminary views of award scenarios and vendor competencies;
push bid analytics forward through feedback framing for vendors
Collaborate with the central sourcing analytics team on all analyses, providing the central team with a plan for analysis, nuanced category inputs on analysis prepared by the team
Vendor management :
- Manage vendor communications through day-to-day activities and competitive events such as launch, kick-off calls, email correspondence including Q&A
- Also manage vendor communications and feedback through sample reviews and other such activities that may be led by other teams outside of sourcing
Executing on the day-to-day :
Support with the execution and management of non-competitive event activities such as managing cost changes, product discontinuations / reformulations / artwork changes, new item sourcing, etc.
Responsibilities of seniority :
- Drive coverage and analysis of categories of higher complexity and / or spend
- Play a coach / mentor role to Analysts and help mentees better chart a career path per feedback from the Analyst’s manager
- Increasingly demonstrate more standalone execution as an indication of readiness for the next role
The salary range is $72,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications.
There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
What we are searching for
- Preferred degree in : Economics, Mathematics, Food Science, Managerial Economics, or Finance.
- 5+ years’ experience and the education listed above.
- Good understanding of sourcing, the supply chain (manufacturing, distribution) for multiple consumable categories, preferably including Food and Beverage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems / tools.
- Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems including various sources of data to build a business case.
- Excellent presentation and influencing skills using PowerPoint to make recommendations to leadership.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects teams ensuring timelines are met and results are exceeded via strong relationship and collaboration skills.
- Able to communicate clearly, turning complex analysis into simple messages.
- High energy level, initiative, creative problem-solving ability and sense of urgency.
- Excellent team interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple tasks while providing superior service.
- Able to identify and implement business process opportunities to continuously improve department efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Passion for the food, retail or consumer packaged goods industry.
