Our client is currently seeking an Environmental + Spatial Designer, Level 2. This is an in-office position requiring occasional travel to our client's New Jersey office.
Remote work arrangements may be considered for exceptional candidates. Candidates must be based in the tri-state area.
As an Environmental and Spatial Designer, you will be responsible for creating captivating branded experiences across various touchpoints, including exhibits, wall graphics, digital components, signage, wayfinding, and identification systems.
Collaborating closely with our workplace strategy, architecture, and brand teams, you'll ensure that our physical spaces seamlessly reflect our brand identity and values.
Key Responsibilities :
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office tools to conceptualize and execute spatial designs that align with brand guidelines.
- Create visually compelling solutions that enhance the brand presence in physical spaces, including our upcoming headquarters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative environmental branding strategies.
- Incorporate typography, grid systems, and scale considerations into design solutions.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and empathy towards team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications :
- 4-7 years of related experience in environmental and spatial design, consumer branding, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office tools.
- Optional : Familiarity with 3D programs such as Revit, Sketchup, or Blender.
- Strong understanding of spatial design principles and the ability to think in scale.
- Experience working with brand guidelines and adapting designs to meet brand standards.
- Excellent typography skills and comprehension of grid systems.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing workstreams.
Nice to Have / Bonus Skills :
- Understanding of HTML for translating designs into web formats.
- Basic animation skills and experience with AfterEffects.
- Illustration skills and art direction experience.
- Previous experience in exhibition or museum design.
Portfolio Requirements :
- Showcase a diverse range of projects demonstrating spatial design expertise, including exhibits, signage, and environmental graphics.
- Highlight experience working with brand guidelines and typography.
- Demonstrate the ability to create mechanical files and adapt designs for production.
- Provide clear and concise presentations of your work, demonstrating your design process and problem-solving skills.
