Under the direct supervision of a supervisor / manager / pharmacist performs medication related tasks such as packaging, preparation of all forms of medications, record keeping, and all aspects of drug distribution.
Assists in the transportation and handling of chemotherapy and controlled substances.
Major Responsibilities :
- Processes and releases orders using pharmacy dispense queue.
- Oncology order set up through gathering drug, diluent, base solution, tubing, filters, labels, as well as anything else required for compounding.
- Maintains inventory, reorders, restocks, and monitors expiration dates of all medications in the pharmacy as well as floor stock medication provided via Pyxis.
- Familiar with pharmacy technology and equipment. Capable of troubleshooting technical problems.
- Prepares and packages all forms of medications.
- Assembles drugs in an accurate and efficient manner.
Position Qualifications :
License / Certification / Education :
Required :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current license with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
- Certified by one of the national governing bodies such as Pharmacy Technician Certification Board PTCB, or the National Healthcareer Association ExCPT.
Experience / Skills :
Required :
- 3 years of previous experience.
- Position requires proficiency in math and the knowledge and ability to use a computer.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions with accuracy, efficiency, and dependability.
- Positive work ethic, motivated and professional demeanor to promote teamwork in the department.
