Company History :

Jersey Mike’s Subs was originally named Mike’s Subs, which started as a small shop in the seaside town of Point Pleasant, NJ.

It was unique in that the product offered was a relatively new item in American society the original submarine sandwich.

Fast forward to today and the authentic Mike’s Way® taste is available nationwide at every Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurant thanks to Peter Cancro, the Founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, Inc.

Peter started working at the original Mike’s subs when he was 14 and purchased the company in 1972 when he was just 17 years old.

Responsibilities :

  • Greet customers genuinely, record orders, and serve food / beverages with a consistently positive and helpful attitude, including answering questions about the menu.
  • Input orders into a point-of-sale system and accept payment using a credit card reader or cash register while calculating change accurately and quickly as required.
  • As a crew member, prepare cold and hot subs to customer specifications , while following cooking instructions, safety procedures, and sanitary requirements.
  • Use kitchen tools safely (knives, grills, slicers, etc.) while ensuring restaurant cleanliness daily, including clearing and wiping tables, sweeping, and mopping floors, washing and sanitizing utensils, and thoroughly cleaning restrooms.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to create work schedules and resolve interpersonal issues as needed.
  • Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally andin a calm manner while resolving problems according to Jersey Mike's standards and policies.
  • Maintain a neat and tidy appearance by wearing a required uniform and adhering to corporate dress code.

Schedule :

Flexible : Day shifts, Evening shifts, Weekday shifts, Weekend shifts, Overtime, etc.

Base Pay and Benefits :

  • Starting Wage : $14-16 per hour based on experience.
  • Standardized, hands-on training program.
  • Free sandwich every shift.
  • Employee discounts.
  • Health and dental insurance (32+ hours).
  • Opportunities to advance rapidly into Shift Lead, Assistant Manager, and Manager roles (and beyond, including potential franchise ownership someday!).
  • Paid sick time.

Supplemental Pay :

  • Gratuities : $5-$6 per hour (frequently more).
  • Hiring bonus : $75, paid after 90 days on the job
  • Bonus Program : For each pay period, get an extra $1 per hour for being on time for all your scheduled shifts and get an additional $1 per hour if you cover another employee’s shift (sick, calling out).

Job Types : Full-time, Part-time

Pay : $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

To keep everyone safe, all customers and crew are required to wear masks. Pickup and delivery available. Common surfaces are sanitized on a regular basis.
