Position Summary :
The Project Team is expected to deliver on a lot of high expectations and a Project Manager cannot do it alone. The Assistant Project Manager is the person the Project Manager can rely on to take whatever is needed to ensure the project runs smoothly, on time, and on budget.
This role is expected to be agile and can fill in wherever the project needs. This role is expected to make things happen within the project which is why it's critical to a project team's success.
Essential Functions :
Project Administration & Scheduling
- Assist in monitoring all aspects of projects to maintain schedule, ensure cost effectiveness, and track project allowances to meet budget goals
- Primary approver on invoices
- Have an understanding of any non-FFA permits that are needed and track those permits through completion to ensure they are submitted and approved
- Ensure the equipment and materials buyout schedule is included in the master schedule
- Serve as a cross-trained back up for the materials buyout process
Site Setup & Support
Develop slip contact list, maintain list throughout the project, and manage pre-slip check list
Communication & Support
- Serve as the secondary to collect and file concrete and compaction test results
- Responsible for weekly jobsite progress reports
- Effectively communicate with owners, internal departments, subcontractors, superintendents, vendors, and suppliers in a timely manner
- Understand the project expectations and communicate with all parties involved
- Communicate daily or every other day with the jobsite Superintendent
Experience
- One of more years experience in project administration or construction industry (internship does count)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge & Mindset
- Develop understanding of organizational processes and manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities as necessary
- Always looking for ways for processes to be more effective
- Looks for ways to learn about what T&S does and become passionate for our services
- Willingness to do what it takes : be ready and willing to take on any task that gets assigned by the Project Manager
Schedule : Standard schedule is Monday - Friday 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm. Optional "Summer" schedule is Monday - Thursday, 7 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm, Friday 8 : 00 am - 12 : 00 pm.
May have potential for some schedule flexibility.
