Role Overview
The Parts Cleaner-1 cleans and sanitizes production equipment and machine parts using various types of solvents, cleaning agents, compressed air, and water to remove grease, grime, raw material powders or manufactured final products.
The cleaning process ensures that raw materials, tablets / capsules, or other soil does not mix into and contaminate the next production batch.
Areas of Responsibility
- Cleans and sterilizes machines, machine parts, and utensils used in the production of solid dose tablets and / or capsules.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums the hallways, processing rooms and other work areas.
- Operates buffer and floor scrubbers and maintains the log of cleaning of manufacturing areas.
- Safely and properly prepare cleaning solutions soak and scrub all machine parts, utensils, and tanks, rinse with potable and purified water, dry with compressed air, and sanitize with IPA 70%.
- Cleaned parts covered with polyethylene bags and affix a Cleaned Tag and store in clean equipment’s room.
- Notifies supervisor any damage parts and lose or missing parts of equipment.
- Replenish all single use items used in manufacturing or placed at respective workplaces.
- Maintains clean, organized washroom work areas and securely stores equipment and supplies.
- Completes any reports or logs.
- Collects trash / recyclable materials and is responsible for the proper disposal of each in correct containers.
- Maintains proper gowning and hygiene to ensure integrity of the product as per company policies.
- Works extended hours and occasional weekend overtime.
- Adheres to all safety protocols, procedures, and PPE requirements and reports personal injuries, accidents to the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education & Qualification :
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- 1+ years in housekeeping / cleaning services
- Past work experience in an FDA regulated workplace and / or manufacturing industries preferred.

- Demonstrates ability to work in a team and assist others.

- Able to speak, read and write basic English to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis and responsibly perform work without injury to oneself or other individuals.
- Able to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision or other employee assistance after the training period is completed.

Physical Requirements (lifting, etc.) :
- Must clean, walk, stand for a minimum of 6 hours per shift.
- Must be able to push & pull a janitor’s work cart or Zamboni floor cleaner of 15 25 pounds and be able to lift up to 20lbs.
occasionally lift and move up to 35 pounds.
Uses hands to finger, handle, feel, lifting to waist height and / or above shoulder height, reaching overhead, frequent bending from waist, or squatting, lean over equipment as well as kneeling on the floor to clean under furniture;
mopping / vacuuming / sweeping.
- Occasionally works from a rolling ladder or step stool.
- Must be able wear all PPE including lab coat, face mask, booties, gloves, safety glasses / goggles to work in and around manufacturing areas.
Work Environment (Office, Warehouse, temperature extremes, etc.) :
- Much of the work is performed in a wet and humid Washroom with large sinks. Exposure to sprays of rinse water from hoses / faucets and drying parts using compressed air hoses.
- The manufacturing environment temperatures can be moderate, exposure to dust, odors, noise, and fumes. The noise level is usually moderate.
Employees can be exposed daily to chemicals and cleaning agents as well as tablet powders.
