Shop Lead

Job Title : Shop Lead (1st shift)Job Summary : We are an employee focused company in the Defense industry who is seeking a Positive person with previous Leadership experience to lead a small team of Machine Operators, as well as scheduling, maintaining small manufacturing equipment, and operating as needed.

Responsibilities for the Shop Lead include :

Equipment maintenanceStart-up equipment in the morning.Preventative-Maintenance checks, lubes, etc.Maintain fluid levels.

Change bits, as needed. Maintain logbook to detail maintenance frequency and purpose, for data collection.Maintain MRO Inventory levels to ensure we have a back-up for each tooling component.

Provide Ops Manager with tooling / parts needed to maintain proper levels.Work directly with Quality and Assembly Leads to determine root cause for any production-related issues that may stem from a piece of our equipment.

Work directly with Production and Operations Managers on process-related improvement plans.

Building maintenance will include some janitorial assistance.Assembling office equipment (desks, workstations, chairs, etc.

Changing light bulbs.Emptying trash cans.Installing locks / lights / mailboxes / TVs / white boards / frames, etc.Work directly with Operations Manager on building and equipment-related improvement plans.

Oversee shop personnel and procedures.Check part quality through use of inspection sheets, specific to each piece of equipment.

Maintain form and function of parts in shop.Learn to operate each piece of equipment to eventually train Assemblers.Work with Operations to determine daily production needs.

• Operate equipment, as needed.
• Package components in boxes / on pallets for outgoing shipments of WIP components for outside processing.
• Receive mileage reimbursement for any work-related use of personal vehicle.
