Position : Server Administrator
Work Location : Fort Bragg, NC, 28310
Key Responsibilities :
- Server Administration : Manage, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, ensuring their performance, reliability, and security.
- STIG Implementation & Compliance : Apply and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on all servers to ensure compliance with DoD security requirements.
- Server Provisioning & Monitoring : Install, configure, and monitor server systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Security & Access Control : Implement security protocols and access control measures to safeguard server environments in line with DoD cybersecurity standards.
- Patching & Updates : Ensure servers are up-to-date with the latest patches, security updates, and firmware to protect against vulnerabilities.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery : Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for critical server systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution : Diagnose and resolve server-related issues, working to minimize downtime and ensure high availability of services.
- Server Optimization : Continuously monitor and optimize server performance, addressing any bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Documentation & SOPs : Maintain comprehensive documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for server management, STIG compliance, and incident resolution.
- Compliance & Reporting : Ensure all server environments meet DoD compliance standards and assist in preparing for audits or security assessments.
Qualifications :
- DoD Environment Experience : Experience managing servers in a DoD environment, with a solid understanding of DoD security protocols and standards.
- STIG Compliance : Proven experience applying and maintaining Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on server systems.
- Server & Virtualization Knowledge : Strong knowledge of physical and virtual server environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and their management.
- Security Protocols & Access Control : Familiarity with security protocols, encryption, and access control measures in a military or government setting.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery : Experience with server backup, recovery solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting : Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve server-related issues efficiently.
Education & Certifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) (preferred).
- Familiarity with DoD security policies and standards (STIG compliance).
