As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate budget information, developing financial models, and providing analysis to support decision-making processes.
You will collaborate closely with various departments and stakeholders to ensure financial goals are met and budgets are effectively managed.
Job duties include : Budget Management
Budget Management
Maintain and review budget information, develop budget models, and assess adjustments for staffing and expenditures.
Financial Analysis
Develop ad hoc financial budgets, models, and analyses to support decision-making and risk management for new programs and activities.
Variance Analysis
Analyze and prepare variance analysis reports against budget / forecast using financial metrics.
Budget Preparation
Support processes to prepare the budget, load budgets, and reconcile results.
Multi-year Budget Planning
Assist in analyzing multi-year budget planning processes by analyzing financial and non-financial information.
Policy Management
Manage and maintain financial analysis and budgeting policies and procedures.
Standard Budgeting Assumptions
Assist in analyzing annual standard budgeting assumptions related to revenues, compensation, benefits, and capital spending.
Faculty Salary Process
Assist with the faculty salary process and monitor faculty salaries.
Fringe Benefit Allocation
Prepare and maintain fringe benefit allocation rates and insurance allocations.
Process Improvement
Identify and contribute to implementing improvements to policies, processes, tools, and systems.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
- 2-3 years of accounting or financial planning / budget experience.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel, Access, and ability to work with ERP systems.
- An understanding of mathematical formulas (statistical analysis) used in financial modeling is required.
- Maturing and contagious Christian faith, knowledge of and the willingness to actively support the Christian mission of the University and accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Major coursework in data science or information technology.
- Experience with ERP implementation and financial planning cloud-based software.
- Knowledge of Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.
