Kindergarten Teacher
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Kindergarten Teacher to join our team at GEO Academies 21st Century Charter School in Gary.
As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for young children.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, assessing student progress, and communicating with parents and guardians.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of all students
- Create a safe and nurturing learning environment for young children
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and classroom activities
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive and supportive school community
- Attend professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education
- Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents well informed of student progress by collecting and tracking data, providing daily feedback, weekly assessments, and occasional parent / teacher conferences
- Work with the Special Education teachers and administration to serve special needs students in the classroom
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible
- Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff

Requirements
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- State of Indiana teaching certification (Professional Educator or Initial Practitioner license only. Substitute license not accepted)
- Experience working with young children in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff
- Passion for working with young children and helping them reach their full potential
