Our client is seeking a Membership Engagement Specialist - Administrative Assistant. This newly created position is for a religious organization located in Northern Westchester County.
Salary : $60-70K plus benefits (in office; Mon-Fri 9am -pm); occasional over time when necessary
Membership
- Build member engagement through programming and attendance at key synagogue events.
- Support membership recruitment and events through phone calls, scheduling meetings and tours.
- Create relationships with members, proactively engaging them with ongoing opportunities to learn, grow, and volunteer at the synagogue.
Event Development, Scheduling, Implementation and Planning
- Plan and implement dynamic, transformative, and engaging Jewish programming; develop activities and programs of interest to specific age groups and member demographics.
- Collaborate with the professional staff and lay leadership to align programming with congregational needs, to ensure service to all constituencies and to promote current and future goals.
- Investigate program ideas and network with program professionals in other congregations and agencies
- Serve as the primary staff support for congregational programs and activities (i.e. active participation in all aspects of event / program from meetings to event to follow up, debrief, etc.
throughout the year and steward committees to work on them WT5 .
- Maintain and update synagogue master calendar with all event details.
- Coordinate the facilities for special Synagogue events; order food and party rentals; and prepare set ups for meetings, events and services for the custodial staff.
- Prepare the facilities for the High Holy Days. Work select Jewish holidays.
Administrative Needs
- Provide administrative assistance as needed, such as writing and editing emails pertaining to programs or projects.
- Use various software, including Microsoft word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software to prepare reports and / or special projects.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Education Background, Skills and Work Experience
- The ideal candidate will possess the following :
- A Bachelor’s degree or above
- Demonstrated success in programming
- Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects without compromising quality
- Strong organization skills with mindfulness for accuracy and the ability to adhere to deadlines and follow through in a timely and proactive manner.
