What You’ll Do :
- Manage multiple construction projects from concept to completion with varying timelines that may conflict or converge.
- Assess and manage resources including time, people, and equipment in order to fulfill project budgets within approved limits.
- Estimate job costs, create budgets, forecast, and finalize projects.
- Collaborate with and oversee general contractors and external vendors.
- Review bids and contracts, scope of work, and negotiate terms and conditions, applying value engineering principles.
- Order necessary equipment and collaborate with internal support staff to meet delivery deadlines.
- Report project progress on a daily (at times) and / or weekly schedule.
- Avoid issues and mitigate risks through accurate planning, and resolve problems when they arise.
- Track and analyze projects and outcomes to convey accurate reports and to improve company best practices
What You’ll Bring :
- Five to 10 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in retail, fast food, or similar multi-location commercial projects.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately fifty percent within the Western United States.
- Expertise in reading blueprints / schematics; knowledge of current building codes.
- Ability to perform miscellaneous construction tasks, for example, pulling wire, staging and installing equipment, etc.
- Work and collaborate remotely with limited direct supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software packages.
- Excellent writing, communication, project management, and interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Composure under pressure, good judgment, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
listen actively and communicate assertively.
Must live in the Los Angeles area and have experience with ground up commercial construction in California prior experience with a General Contractor is desirable.
