About the Team

Fanatics is a prominent and innovative organization in the sports and trading cards industry, dedicated to creating exceptional event experiences for collectors, fans, and enthusiasts.

Our newest platform, Fanatics Events, provides a unique platform for attendees to engage with athletes, discover exclusive collectibles, and immerse themselves in the vibrant sports and trading cards community.

As we continue to expand our event portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Vice President of Partnerships and Business Development to join our team in NYC.

Job Overview :

We are actively seeking a highly motivated Vice President of Partnerships and Business Development to drive partner engagement and activation for our events, both internally and externally.

Reporting directly to the CEO of Fanatics Events, this role is pivotal in enhancing our revenue growth and brand recognition through strategic partnerships and business development initiatives.

As the VP, you will lead the identification, negotiation, and management of partnerships that will help to build world-class fan events.

You will also develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for all our events. The candidate will be expected to attend all the events we produce, providing exceptional customer service to our partners and overall leadership in executing the events.

The role will require occasional travel to various partners and events nationwide. While offering hybrid work options, this role requires a minimum of one week per month at our New York office.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Partnership Development :
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with brands, sponsors, and organizations to enhance our events and drive revenue.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with Fanatics’ cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate partners into our events, maximizing their impact through well-thought-out activations and product exclusives.
  • Work with league partners to garner participation in Fanatics Events through activations, sponsorships, co-marketing, and content development.
  • Business Development Strategy :
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to identify new growth opportunities within the sports league, collectibles, and entertainment event industry.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and industry dynamics to identify potential areas for expansion.
  • Team Leadership :
  • Build and lead a high-performing partnerships and business development team.
  • Set clear goals, provide mentorship, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team.
  • Revenue Generation :
  • Drive revenue growth through partnerships, sponsorships, and other business development initiatives that raise awareness across Fanatics owned and partner events.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve revenue targets.
  • Relationship Management :
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing partners to ensure long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences to network and build relationships with potential partners.
  • Partner with marketing, content, and operations teams to ensure fulfillment of partner asks in order to exceed partner goals.
  • Budget Management :
  • Develop and manage the partnerships and business development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Qualifications :

  • 8+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, or related roles, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong knowledge of the sports event industry, including key players and trends.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to build and motivate teams.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed revenue targets.

The salary range for this position is $180,000 to $240,000 , which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation.

When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
