HomePlate Catering and Hospitality, The official hospitality provider for the Somerset Patriots Baseball Team and Double A affiliate for the New York Yankees in Bridgewater, NJ has opened up various Internship positions for the 2025 Season.
An internship with HomePlate Catering and Hospitality will allow candidates to learn several different aspects of running a Food & Beverage Department for a large multi-purpose facility.
Ideally, candidates will be college students that are interested in learning management and operating skills related to the facility and hospitality industry.
Hours are full time and include nights, weekends, and holidays.
The HomePlate Catering and Hospitality offices are located at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, NJ and service the Somerset Patriots Baseball Team the AA affiliate of the New York Yankees.
Purchasing & Receiving / Warehouse Interns will work with VP / GM, AGM and Warehouse lead to manage all duties in the warehouse under limited supervision.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Ordering, receiving and storage and distribution of food and beverage,
- Inventory control / POS management
- Will prepare, update and maintain a purchase order log on a daily basis
- On game days, duties will include icing down all soda and bar stations as well as managing all beer sales locations.
- Assist with maintenance of facility and equipment repair.
- Knowledge of Excel and ability to drive a forklift is beneficial to the position. Ability to regularly lift 50-100 lbs required.
Weekly hours vary between 30-40.
Other General Duties for all interns include :
Product cost analysis, purchasing and sales forecasting, seeking new revenue streams, and other duties as required by management.
Compensation : $15.49 / hour and college credit can also be earned if applicable to the student. Some positions can lead to full-time positions during the internship or to positions within the company at the completion of the internship.
Time Frame : (Late winter 2025 September 2025) Start dates are flexible but can start as early as late-February. Internship schedules can be made around college schedule through May.
Program ends one week before school starts the following school year or until the end of the season for all graduating seniors.
It is expected that interns have open availability to work a full work schedule during the season and work ALL of the Somerset Patriots home games.
