Our Allentown office is currently looking for a full-time Senior Traffic Engineer to join our exceptional team.

Job Description :

  • Conduct and oversee traffic impact studies, safety analyses, and capacity studies to assess and improve traffic flow and safety.
  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of traffic control devices, including signals, signage, and pavement markings for both municipal and commercial clients.
  • Supervise and manage studies that involve parking restrictions, pavement markings, sight distance, signage, and speed limits.
  • Supervise and manage projects involving roadway safety, intersection design and municipal highway projects.
  • Prepare and review detailed technical reports, plans, and specifications for traffic engineering projects.
  • Develop and optimize signal timing plans and coordinate traffic signals across corridors using traffic engineering software such as Synchro, HCS, or related tools.
  • Collaborate with team members, other departments, and clients to develop innovative solutions to traffic challenges.
  • Work with clients on traffic signal maintenance issues and operations. Coordinate with township signal maintenance contractor and Penn DOT with Signal Permitting.
  • Supervise and educate staff on various land development and site design concepts.
  • Review of municipal subdivision and land development applications, traffic impact studies and zoning requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including budgeting, scheduling, client communication and deadlines.
  • Represent the company in client and public meetings, hearings, and community outreach, providing expert advice, and addressing concerns for commercial and municipal clients.
  • Provide expert testimony in legal cases if required.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, traffic engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in traffic engineering or related discipline.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania required.
  • Experience with project management and leading project teams.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to conduct field work which may include standing, walking, and carrying equipment on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to work both in the field and office.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various customer sites in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualification

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in municipal traffic projects.
  • Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) a plus.
