POSITION SUMMARY :
With limited supervision, this position has the opportunity for an intern to experience and develop commercial business skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- All the following will be performed under supervision, you are not expected to know these terms much less how to address within the commercial relationship.
- Participate in reviewing projects for liens or bailment agreements.
- Review contracts for terms and conditions of the commercial relationship.
- Interact with Finance, Sales, Legal, Customer Service, Operations personnel.
- Interact with all levels of the sales force to manage sensitive customer relationship issues.
- Participate in process development for lien application.
- Complete Surety Bond requests.
- Review open accounts for collection efforts.
- Make outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations.
- Resolve billing issues and provide excellent customer service.
- Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss them with management.
- Contact other departments and / or outside agencies to resolve routine accounting problems. Research and resolve vendor discrepancies and dispute and escalate issues to management as needed.
- Identify and improve the processes employed in the management of the financial commercial relationship between the company and its customers.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education and Experience :
- Working towards a BS / BS degree in accounting.
- Enrolled in a 4-year program, with a business, finance, economic, or legal focus.
- Sequel or other Programming Language a plus.
Other Qualifications :
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good critical thinking skills and ability to prioritize.
- Willing to step in and work with a team.
- SQl or other programming language skills.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet applications.
- Legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Able and willingness to work alternative schedules as needed.
- Legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Able to work in a general office environment.
