Position Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist assesses plans, administers, and evaluates patients receiving all respiratory care modalities as ordered by a physician or as delineated by Medical Center protocols.
Actively participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of quality patient care. Provides emergency, critical care and general care respiratory services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Core Responsibilities
- Acts as a patient advocate and upholds patient rights
- Assures all patients are correctly identified prior to providing and / or documenting care
- Documents in a clear and legible manner
- Accurately documents verbal orders with read back
- Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care
- Maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients, family and significant others while providing care
Minimum Requirements
- NJ Respiratory License, RRT or CRT
- BLS, (ACLS, and PALS preferred)
- Knowledge of electronic medical records and medical terminology
- Intermediate computer skills, excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods with the ability to lift, push and pull
