Purpose of Position :
This position is responsible for procurement of raw materials for the Dallas Facility at the highest quality and lowest delivered cost and reports directly to the General Manager.
Accountabilities :
- Position is directly responsible for buying high quality fresh fruit and vegitible products for the dallas dc and fresh cut department at the lowest price.
- Interact daily with operations and sales to develop a demand plan for what to buy coordinate with sales team to assure price targets for each commodity are clear and followed to maximize profit
- Assure the lowest cost transportation options are always achieved strategically buy in regions to maximize transporaton effeciency.
- Meet daily to overview inventory and pricing with buyers and sales staff
- Support sales staff in their needs-deals buying to increase units
- Increase del monte grown / label sales to our customers
- Maintain and help increase profits through vendor relationships-rebates
- Work with coral gables coordinators to find short product for the divisions-
- Daily load trucks with the inbound transportation dept
- Review sales daily to keep inventories updated and check sell prices to insure our highest gross profit
- Purchase all allocations for this dc and keep product and prices updated
- Assure timely processing of claims, clips and assure customer invoicing is correctly paid manage price after sales accurately and timely
- Quote advanced pricing for increased units
- This position also sells customers on a direct basis to increase profits
- Sells some customers and is responsible to increase profits to make company budgets
Minimum skills required :
- Must have 5 years of seasonal fob buying
- Needs to be aware or ads being ran-shortages in the market place, foresee future shortages
- Outlook of all areas including offshore product to keep the highest quality at the best price
- Communicate to sales people and buyers needs to increase movement and to keep product moving through the warehouse
