Key Responsibilities for Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles including trucks, trailers, and buses.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to provide accurate and effective solutions.
• Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all vehicles meet quality and safety standards.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs performed.
• Work collaboratively with other fleet mechanics and team members to ensure efficiency.
• Provide customer service by discussing vehicle issues and repair options with clients.
• Adhere to all industry regulations and the company's safety and quality standards.
• Stay informed with the latest automotive technologies and heavy-duty repair techniques.

Qualifications for Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic

• High School diploma or equivalent; ASE certification in heavy-duty vehicle repair is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy-duty vehicle mechanic or similar role within the transportation / logistics sector.
• Strong understanding of heavy-duty automotive systems and components.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and heavy-duty repair equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 50 pounds of dead weight.
• Capability to climb up and down ladders.
• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, and / or crawl.
• Flexibility to twist or turn in confined spaces.
