Position : Ramp Agent
Reports to : Ramp Supervisor
Location : HPN
Airport : Westchester County Airport
Summary :
A Ramp Agent is responsible to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position in a safe, timely and efficient manner under the direction of a supervisor or manager.
The job includes shift work, including evenings and nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Load and unload baggage
- Park / Dispatch aircraft, marshalling, pushback, wing walking, chocking and cone placement associated with the parking and dispatch of aircraft
- Operate ground equipment
- Service of aircraft, including water / lavatory service
- Clean aircraft cabin
- Aircraft deicing
- Perform F.O.D. checks
- Provide wheelchair service upon passenger request, including escorting a passenger with a wheelchair
- Perform other functions as assigned by the Ramp Supervisor
- Work in conjunction with ramp team for the safe and timely operation of assigned flights
- Prepare the ramp equipment at the gate for aircraft acceptance
- Clear obstacle clearance zones for arriving and departing aircraft and all aircraft movements
- Ensure gate checks and security bags are cleared and loaded accordingly and ensure aircraft is loaded in accordance with operations instructions
Qualifications :
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid driver’s license
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for a prolonged period of time (8 - 10 hours)
- Ability to climb, bend, kneel while working in a confined area
- Write, read and communicate in English
- Prior customer service experience a plus
- Flexible and able to work all shifts including evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Maintain airline and airport qualifications as they relate to job functions
- Must be a team player
