We are currently seeking a Compression Engineering Specialist for a client in Shelton, CT.

Pay Rate : $135-140K DOE
DESCRIPTION :
Ensure Compressor Station design and operation follows Federal, State and Local rules / regulations and site-specific permitting requirements.
Oversee new plant and facility, construction and commissioning. Manages and reports the reliability and availability of the compressor fleet (eleven gas turbo compressor units).
Provides technical support, leadership and oversight to all compression activities. Negotiates, manages and administers maintenance agreements.
Coordinates maintenance and warranty repair of compression equipment. Develops budgets and schedules for O&M and Capital work at all Compressor Stations.
Creates, maintains and trains on Field Operating Procedures. Occasionally interviews, make hiring recommendations, mentors, and promote the development of employees.
This position is safety-sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage long-term operations, maintenance and upgrade plans for all compressor stations.
- Direct and oversee up to 10,000 working hours annually of contractors.
- Manage multiple O&M projects
- Provide technical guidance on expansion projects
- Manage multiple ( 10) service agreements and contracts simultaneously.
- Review new plant and facility design to ensure company requirements and best practices are met.
- 20% travel with minimal notice.
- Be available on off hours in case of emergencies.
Knowledge
- Understand the process flow through the pipeline and facilities.
- Understand basic rotating equipment and monitoring equipment.
- Understand high pressure gas turbo compressors and auxiliary processes.
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures and specifications related to facilities
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance methods, oil analysis and root cause analysis
- Knowledge of governing regulations (Operator Qualifications, FERC, Pipeline Safety, DOT, etc.), environmental, health & safety procedures and regulations, construction and maintenance practices in related facilities and safe work practices.
- Proficient in project management.
- Basic legal and administrative skills to negotiate, develop and manage contracts.
- Basic proficiency with PLC programs and SCADA systems Basic knowledge of valves, piping, welding, structural design, meters, electrical systems, control systems and pumps
- Personable and able to negotiate priorities, influence stake holders and manage expectations
- Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Clear, concise, and audience sensitive, verbal and written communications.
- High proficiency in office applications, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
