Delta has been retained by a confidential client to conduct a search for the position of Electrical Project Engineer (Designer) in Austin, Texas.
Electrical Project Engineer (Designer) Compensation & Benefits :
Total compensation for the Electrical Project Engineer (Designer) in Austin, TX is between $75,000 and $83,000.

Electrical Project Engineer (Designer) Duties & Responsibilities :
- Assist with the coordination and preplanning of the project including the identification of pre-fab opportunities, coordinate pre-fab / installation drawings as necessary, and coordinate with contractors and subcontractors on schedule related items.
- Perform quality control inspections, documenting and coordinating corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in the development of a project schedule, review and submit submittals and assist with the schedule of values.
- Coordinate and perform pre-punch list inspections to limit / eliminate final punch list items.
- Assist in the coordination of drawings and their distribution to the field.
- Assist in the completion of as built and / or record drawings.
- Assist in the completion of O&M manuals.
- Assist in the document control process including writing and tracking of RFIs and their responses.
- Assist in pricing change orders and updating the tracking logs.
- Assist in the completion of quality assurance forms and documents as required.
- Assist with commissioning as required.
- Identify and correct safety violations as they occur.
- Report safety violations to the Safety Director, Project Manager and / or division manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Electrical Project Engineer (Designer) Qualifications :
- Strong employment stability.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the electrical industry; or a combination of education and experience.
- Must have working knowledge of electrical systems, appropriate codes and industry standards.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to integrate into a construction environment.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand contract documents, plans, specs and requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of all systems such as Fire Alarm, Lighting Control, Access Control, BAS, etc.
- Knowledge of current National Electrical Codes as well as local and state electrical codes.
- Proficient computer skills with all basic office programs (Word and Outlook) and the ability to learn and use related software and systems are required.
Revit / Navisworks / AutoCAD)
- Advanced computer skills are strongly preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred but Not Necessary
- College Degree Preferred, not mandatory.
- Completion of the Inside Wireman Apprenticeship or similar / equivalent training.
